Getting Started

1.1 Creating an Account

• Download and install the app from the App Store or Google Play. • Enter a valid licensing key to unlock the app. • Tap 'Sign Up' and enter your phone number. • Receive and enter the OTP sent to your phone. • Complete your account creation. • Enable biometric authentication (Face ID) during sign-up or anytime in settings.

1.2 Understanding Message Sensitivity Levels

OTRx offers three sensitivity levels for secure messaging: Sensitive, Highly Sensitive, and Ultra Sensitive. Each level adds additional protection features to safeguard your private communications.

1.3 Setting Message Timers

Choose how long the recipient can view a message: 5s, 10s, 20s, 40s or custom durations depending on your preference. Once the timer expires, the message is permanently erased from all devices.

Troubleshooting

2.1 Verification or Login Problems

• Check your internet connection. • Ensure the verification SMS has been received. • Restart the app and try again. • If the issue persists, contact support.

2.2 Notifications Not Arriving

• Ensure notifications are enabled in device settings. • Disable battery optimization for OTRx. • Check if your device is in Do-Not-Disturb mode.

2.3 Face / Object Detection Issues

• Improve the lighting around you. • Keep your device steady. • Clean your camera lens. • Make sure all required permissions are granted.

2.4 EMF / IR Scan Not Detecting Anything

• Ensure your device supports the required sensors. • Move away from magnetized or metal surfaces. • Hold your device steady during scanning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Where are my messages stored?

Messages are stored only inside your device's secure hardware enclave. OTRx servers act purely as a transient relay and do not store or retain messages.

Q2. Can deleted messages be recovered?

No. OTRx uses a zero-retention model. Once a message is deleted (timer, sender action, or threat detection), it is permanently erased across all devices.

Q3. Where is my biometric data stored?

Biometric data is never uploaded to OTRx servers. All biometric processing occurs locally on your device using secure hardware.

Q4. Why did my message disappear automatically?

Messages may auto-delete due to: • Timer expiry • Sender-initiated deletion • Threat or surveillance detection • Session integrity failure • Unauthorized face/object detection (depending on sensitivity level)

Q5. Can I take screenshots of chats?

No. Screenshot capture is blocked. If a user attempts to take a screenshot, the recipient is automatically notified.

Q6. How do I report a security vulnerability?

Use the Support Contact Form and select 'Security Issue'. Our team will respond promptly.

Q7. Does OTRx store my contacts or access my address book?

No. OTRx does not upload or store your contact list. Any contact matching remains fully local on your device.

Q8. What happens if someone tries to record my screen using another device?

In Highly Sensitive and Ultra-Sensitive modes, OTRx uses multi-face detection, object monitoring, and environmental scans. If suspicious activity is detected, the message auto-erases.

Q9. What should I do if OTRx detects surveillance or a threat?

OTRx will: • Alert you immediately • Auto-erase sensitive messages • Revalidate session integrity • Block viewing until the environment is safe
